We’re looking for two Recovery Navigators to join our Exeter team. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, Recovery Navigators deliver an integrated service through the provision of comprehensive and ongoing assessment, recovery planning, appropriate referral/linkage and psychosocial interventions. This includes liaising effectively with partnership agencies in order to ensure continuity of care, key working and access to appropriate services.

Integration means that our service welcomes people at any stage in their recovery journey, starting with the open end of harm reduction, through to brief interventions, extended interventions and structured treatment. In this role, day to day duties will involve you delivering a range of interventions including key-working, strengths based assessment, recovery planning, and structured group and 1:1 work. A significant proportion of your case load will be managed in partnership with a prescribing nurse who you’ll collaborate with closely in order to provide the safest person centred treatment experience.

As a Recovery Navigator, you’ll be responsible for working with and motivating service users to engage in the recovery programmes we offer in Devon as well as become involved in the communities they live in so that they connect with others and feel purposeful in everyday living.

What we’re looking for 
Ideally, you’ll have experience working in a similar field or a similar environment, including undertaking assessments and delivering a range of evidence based substance misuse psychosocial interventions in 1:1 and group-work settings. You’ll have a good understanding of group working and group dynamics, and will be able to demonstrate competent group work facilitation skills. You’ll be comfortable dealing with the emotional content of sessions and constructively challenging the behaviours you see. Some knowledge and understanding of mental health issues would be helpful.

In addition, you’ll be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and time management skills and will be confident managing your own priorities in order to carry a diverse workload with competing demands.

Just as importantly, you’ll have a genuine interest in the understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive recovery focused attitude. You’ll be keen to develop professionally and will demonstrate a high level of integrity and enthusiasm for working within the un-structured direct access ‘front door’ of our service as well as the structured group programmes that we run on a continuous cycle.
