Here at Essex County Council, we're looking at things differently. By 2020, we aim to be both self-funded and self-sufficient, standing on our own two feet financially. It's a significant change and a huge challenge, but a welcome opportunity too. We're in a relatively strong financial position, however there's more we can do. We need to think differently, more entrepreneurially, more creatively about how we use resources to solve the problems of tomorrow.

To ensure that happens, we need people in place who are excited by challenges and inspired by our vision. People with the ambition and drive to do everything they can to bring about this change, together.

As part of this vision and our workforce strategy we need to continue to attract and retain the best people in local government; and so we're improving our approach to reward and benefits.

Joining our Employment Practice team, you will support pay analysis and benchmarking, as well as the review of current reward trends. You'll also develop strong collaborative internal and external networks and providers providing insight on new and innovative approaches across public and private sectors and making a positive contribution to employment practice.About you

You'll have a good understanding of reward and benefits practice in modern, complex environments and expert knowledge of Hay job evaluation methodology. With clear analytical skills, and ability to utilise Excel to model scenarios, your proactive approach will help us to shape our workforce strategy initiatives and support evidence-based decision making. And as a strong communicator who is able to build and manage relationships across both internal and external stakeholders, you'll have a successful track record of managing reward projects and delivering expected outcomes, including managing and building strong relationships with contract suppliers.

Qualification certificates should be brought to interview.

As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service.
