Wilson Stuart School (WSS) and University College Birmingham (UCB) have a proud history of providing outstanding education and training.  In 2013 the two organisations formed a partnership to set up The Hive College, which provides a vocational curriculum for learners from 19 to 25 with high needs, such as physical and learning difficulties and sensory impairments. In September 2016 The Hive College became an Independent Specialist College and now offers three individualised study programmes for students with PMLD, SLD, MLD and ASD.

Our students are delightful, work hard and are keen to learn and the college is a very happy and positive working environment. 

As part of the on-going development of a highly successful Independent Specialist College, we have the following vacancies available for suitable candidates to join our team of professional and dedicated people.

2 x Level 1 Male Care Assistants

Salary £13,146 (includes BCC Living Wage based on 32.5 hours per week term time only)

We require a number of male care assistants to assist our male students with personal care when required and to assist in the male bathrooms. The role will include some pastoral care so good communication and written skills would be desirable. Roles also include entitlement to all school holidays.

We constantly strive for excellence, seeking innovative and collaborative ways of delivering the curriculum and therefore, any person appointed to the above roles must be a highly committed and enthusiastic professional.
