Field Applications Specialist

A great opportunity for a Biomedical Scientist (at least 2 years of post-degree laboratory experience) with experience in Clinical Biochemistry or Immunology, looking to use their knowledge and experience in a customer-focused scientific role.

The role involves providing onsite and in-house customer training, technical support, assisting with installations, demonstrations and troubleshooting.

PRODUCTS: Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay instrumentation, systems and related reagents.

CUSTOMERS: NHS and Private Clinical Laboratories

TERRITORY: Southern UK (covering south of Birmingham, working alongside another applications specialist who covers Northern UK)

The overall role is to provide specialist technical support to all customers, working closely with the company's sales and engineering team!

The position is field-based, travelling to customer sites around 80% of the time, overnight stays will be no more than 1-2 nights per week.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide a high level of on-site support customers, including product demonstrations and evaluations.

Pre-sales demonstrations and support for sales team.

Deliver excellent post-sale customer training programmes either in-house or on-site.

Provide customer technical and application support, assisting new and existing customers with assay validation processes and troubleshooting techniques.

Provide back-up support for other Applications Specialists where requested.

Ensure that the company is professionally represented in the diagnostics marketplace at all times.

Attend all meetings, events and exhibitions as required by the company.

Assist in the build-up, running and break-down of exhibitions (regional and national)

Person Specification:

Experience working in a technical support/field applications specialist role or a Biomedical Scientist (ideally working Band 6), with a background in Biochemistry or Immunology who has some experience training other team members, keen to move into a field-based commercial role!
