The successful Assistant Director of Work Based Curriculum will support the Director of Apprenticeships to provide high quality management, leadership and guidance in the delivery of apprenticeships across the construction and built environment curriculums. 

Ensuring skills coaches and teachers provide learners with an excellent learning experience which develops learners’ skills, knowledge and behaviour, you will manage the delivery of and future development of the apprenticeship offer, including the development of new provision in conjunction with core college curriculum departments and other key stakeholders. 

Liaising with the central Planning and Timetabling Office to ensure the efficient timetabling of courses and the coordination of staffing, you will work with the Quality Manager for Apprenticeships and the Professional Development Manager to lead on improvements to the quality of teaching, learning and assessment; conducting staff appraisals, probationary assessments and other staff performance processes to ensure that individual staff achieve expected standards.

The successful candidate will be a current Good or Outstanding teaching and learning practitioner with successful and experienced background in the planning and delivery of construction, engineering or electrical curriculum.

Experience of leading a team to achieve good to outstanding success rates is essential and you must hold a post graduate Teaching or Education Qualification or Certificate in Education and a relevant degree or professional qualification.
