Longcliffe Quarries are a successful and forward-looking independent company specialising in the extraction and processing of high purity ground calcium carbonates over several locations.

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Transport Manager to join the Longcliffe management team based at our production facility near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. As Fleet Transport Manager, you will provide overall leadership for all aspects of the transport operation as well as supporting the operational requirements of the site. Managing a medium size fleet of powder tankers, tippers and staff drivers, delivering our products to UK wide destinations, this demanding but exciting role requires the successful applicant to be experienced in the management of all aspects of a transport operational environment and be able to manage the performance of the company fleet plus external sub-contractors.

Main Duties & Skills

• Ultimate responsibility for our fleet’s transport legislation compliance and day to day transport operations
• Ensuring the highest level of service to both external customers and internal stakeholders
• Establishing a positive working culture, driving high levels of driver engagement and performance
• Recruitment, retention and training of the transport team
• Responsible for delivering against agreed budgets and KPI’s
• Ensuring site compliance with all relevant employment / transport legislation
• Management of 3PL contractors
• Management of site facilities
• Continuous Improvement planning for all aspects of the transport operation
