This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the City College Plymouth Library team delivering our successful, student-focused library service. Your role is to respond to students’ enquiries, enabling and encouraging them to explore and get the most from the library's resources. Through your guidance you will empower students to become confident independent users of the service.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and will have a proactive approach in promoting the service, including library activities and events. An understanding of social media platforms and how to utilise them, and confidence in speaking to small groups is desirable.
You will be able to demonstrate direct experience of managing customer enquiries in a busy environment, where multiple demands are placed on you. You will be able to meet the varied challenges that students and staff may present and you can be assertive in taking control of a situation. You will take a proactive approach in supporting your managers and colleagues and keeping them informed.
