The Natural Power Control Centre is a leading independent renewable energy control room based in Dumfries and Galloway. Providing global operational services in a 24/7/365 operations department you will be part of a team who have been at the forefront of a fast changing industry for more than ten years. With a primary focus on satisfying client requirements on their operating assets you will be joining a team providing expert health and safety, asset status monitoring, Grid and infrastructure support in a range of energy technologies. Based in a recently redeveloped facility boasting market leading technologies, the team competencies are built on core operational safety principles. Over the years this has developed into more commercial and data driven services so that a suite of requirements can be met – which offers a great opportunity for anyone wishing to be at the centre of this industry in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all site visitors are checked on & off site ensuring their requirements to follow procedure are communicated effectively to them
  • Maintain and check induction records as appropriate
  • Instigate emergency response measures in the event of a visitor not checking off site
  • Carrying out WTSR – Release of Plant and other related work control processes according to procedure
  • Generation and issue of work orders to contractors who are on site to carry out work
  • Escalate when required to supervisors following agreed procedures
  • Reports on site and turbine performance to be submitted as per the contract agreements of sites
  • Respond to any emergency, following the correct procedures accurately
  • Ensuring all relevant parties are communicated effectively to in the event of an emergency
  • Participate in drills and provide feedback on any events
  • Carry out routine dial-ins to site SCADA and other platforms providing information on site
  • Be able and flexible to work as part of a team in a Rota system

  • Quality: All employees are expected to work within the systems, processes and procedures outlined within the department and / or company handbooks or software platforms or training manuals
  • Flexibility: A reasonable degree of flexibility is required from all employees to meet the needs of the role, the department and the wider company

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Educated to Standard Grade or National 5 level or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working within a procedurally driven environment
  • Telephone call handling experience
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely deliver and receive information in both written and verbal format
  • IT Skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new and bespoke software packages

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within an engineering or health and safety focused role
