Regional Neutering Advocacy Manager – Home Based, North England
Full time, 35 hours per week
£35,809.88 per annum plus excellent benefits (starting salary is subject to experience)

Please note, there will be travel with this role and you will be covering the following areas: Northern Ireland, Bradford, Scotland and Nottingham. You will need to have a full driving licence.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. We now help around 190,000 cats and kittens through our network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 adoption centres and homing centres.

We are recruiting for a Neutering Advocacy Manager to join our neutering team in the North of England and help us fulfil one of the charities main objectives; supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats.

You will be involved in helping us lead and deliver on our innovative community programs that are making real difference to the lives and welfare of the UK’s most vulnerable cats and their owners and caretakers. Our regional neutering projects and initiatives to local communities are leading the way in the animal welfare sector and proving that we can reach challenging places and make a difference where the greatest need is and where the greatest gains can be achieved.

All of our projects have human behaviour change principles embedded within them and this is an important measurement of our work. You will lead a team of Community Neutering Officers and Assistants who deliver our projects within targeted areas in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Nottingham and North East England. The role also involves close working with our advocate charities, building on these relationships and providing direction and advice.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, initiative and the ability to engage with people at all levels. You will also be a strong self-starter with a positive attitude.
You will have experience with working across sectors and stakeholders with a proven ability to work collaboratively, building and developing strong and effective relationships internally and externally. The role works closely alongside and deputises for the Head of Neutering. An animal science or welfare background alongside demonstrable understanding of social science is very desirable but not essential.

Most of all, you will be passionate about cat welfare, the charity and what we do as well as wanting the very best for cats and kittens across the UK.

Our work is being published and our community models are being replicated. Come and join us as we change the world for cats!

Closing Date: 21 July 2019

To reward you we have a pay scheme which provides the opportunity to progress within your pay band, subject to satisfactory performance. We also offer a range of benefits which include a generous holiday entitlement, a competitive pension offering, a private medical scheme, and a death in service scheme.
