The Role

As QC Manager you will be first in line to deputise for our Technical Manager on the shop floor, as and when appropriate. As part of our management team you will work closely within our technical team, production teams and all departmental managers. Role requires the person to be predominantly shop floor based.

Knowledge and Experience

* Management of the QA & QC leaders and their tasks completion rates.

* Manage absence and cover for the QC/ QA team

* Role requires the person to be 100% shop floor based

* Conduct root cause analysis for the customer complaints and where needed put in necessary steps to ensure the complaints are not reoccurring

* Ensure technical support to run production smoothly and encounter and solve issues arising due to poor stock rotation of labels/ ingredients and staffing issues from start to finish

* Ensure non-complying products are immediately brought to the attention of the Technical assistant so non- conformances can be raised with supplier in a timely manner

* Ensure you support production with helping them identify what ingredients could be substituted for without affecting the label of the finished product.

* Ensure staff on the shop floor are trained on GMP and any other policies, procedures put in place by the technical team

* Ensure weekly quality meetings are held with the quality team to ensure staff issues are addressed in a timely manner

* Ensure that products are manufactured to Customer, Company and Legal requirements

* Manage production shop floor to ensure that the area is always audit ready

* Oversee allergen clean downs on the shop floor

* Work along with the production shift manager to ensure product safety and quality is put first

* Ensure 100% compliance of the due diligence documents in production, WIP as well as the low risk areas

* Work with Technical Manager implement BRC Issue 7 systems and procedures

* Oversee section personal health and hygiene requirements of staff and compliance to sections, production and production control.

* Ensure the first and last products are checked and step in and help production ensure

* Involvement with accreditation - BRC Issue 8

The Person

* Experience at a Quality Management level in a food manufacturing environment

* Experience of managing and developing a team

* Ability to motivate and inspire a team

* Degree qualified or similar in a relevant subject, e.g. Food Safety, Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or similar- desirable.

* Qualified in HACCP management techniques and application

* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

* Positive and can-do attitude.

* Highly organised
