The Service Centre Manager Role:
To manage all Service Centre activities falling under the remit of Glasgow SC, with particular focus on the industrial, power and facilities management sectors. This will involve close communication with key clients and co-ordination of the team to meet & exceed annual business objectives. The role also carries the responsibility for all Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and LEAN initiatives.
* Lead the Glasgow SC team in line with Sulzer Values and Behaviours
* To facilitate inter-departmental communication and ensure focus on the highest priority issues to maximise profitability & utilisation
* Continuous improvement of business practices and processes aimed at improving service levels for all customer projects/jobs
* To communicate effectively with all key clients, to improve company perception within the Scottish/Northern Region
* To evaluate business opportunities and threats within the territory to develop suitable actions contained within the Glasgow business plan
* Co-ordination of all work involved in investigation, reporting and resolution of any emergent warranty issues, through to customers' satisfaction
* To conform with all UK workplace legislation in addition to Sulzer's own (GPR-5) and client regulations concerning safety, health, environmental, quality & HR issues
* Lead the implementation of LEAN within the Service Centre
Service Centre Manager Skills and experience:
* Good verbal & written communicator
* Able to remain calm and focussed on key priorities when under pressure
* Good team motivator
* Comfortable in presenting to and dealing with customers and company stakeholders at all levels
* Able to understand customer's requirements and translate this into solutions which provide benefit to Sulzer
* Able to understand Service Centre financial statements and translate this into required actions to achieve annual targets
* Management/Engineering Degree or recognised apprenticeship
* Working knowledge of electronics, electrical and/or electromechanical equipment
* Experience in quality assurance issues relating to the testing/operation of motors, generators, pumps, electrical and electronics equipment
