Visitor Experience Officer
Reference number: A1070719
Location: Nottinghamshire
Salary starting at: £17,276 to £18,716 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent

RSPB Sherwood Forest is arguably the most famous forest in the world and we are looking for a Visitor Experience Officer who can interpret the site and help us engage with the 350,000 visitors who come to site every year.

At Sherwood we want to engage with people from a variety of backgrounds, bringing them closer to the forest and the incredible nature making a home here. You will need to work across site teams to ensure staff and volunteers are engaging visitors with the history and legends of Sherwood, helping them develop a deeper understanding and encouraging them to support our work here.

You will need to be creative, an excellent communicator and have experience of people engagement and interpretation, ideally in a visitor attraction setting. We need someone who understands the importance of brand values, and can create an experience for all visitors to enjoy, ensuring they leave having had an excellent time on site.

This role is for someone who wants to create innovative experiences for all demographics, has a passion for people engagement and learning, and understands what good visitor standards look like. You will need to look for new opportunities to develop the interpretation and visitor experience on site, and have a clear understanding of income generation and your contribution to this.

If you are looking for a role where you can develop and grow and really make a difference to nature and the legend of Sherwood, then this might be the role for you.

This role will require regular weekend and some evening working so flexibility is essential.

This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You will be asked to declare unspent convictions and cautions at offer of employment stage.

Closing date: 23 August 2019
