We are looking for an experienced, pro-active and highly skilled administrator and team leader to head up our motivated administration team based at Church House in Truro.

The administration team provides general administrative support across the organisation as well as managing reception and carrying out tasks required to enable the smooth running of Church House operations.

The Operations Manager will manage the provision of administration support to all Church House departments; provide line management of the operations/admin team; and offer specific support to some designated teams as required.

This role requires an individual with a strong background in effective team leadership and service management; is a self-starter and who can take initiative; can provide high level administrative skills; and experience in providing reception and/or hospitality services. We are looking for someone who can lead by example; manage a range of competing priorities successfully; and who is a safe pair of hands, in whom colleagues will have confidence that they will get the job done.

This is an opportunity to be part of a professional, hard-working and passionate team. The work will be varied and interesting and you will have the ability to make a real difference and to contribute to the overall aims of an organisation that serves many people across Cornwall. Additional benefits include the Diocesan Pension Scheme with 9-15% employer contribution, expenses and free parking.

The Church of England is a unique organisation and it is accepted that the successful applicant may not immediately be familiar with all the aspects of this job.  It is necessary, therefore, that you are willing and able to learn the unusual elements of the organisation and the laws and structures within which it operates.

You do not need to be a practising Christian, but do need to be sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Church of England and have a strong desire to serve the church in the Diocese of Truro.

Application is by the form provided and a covering letter of no more than 2 sides of A4. Sorry, we don’t accept CVs.
