This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and fast growing team working to improve the environment in the Colne Valley.

Role: Colne Rivers Project Officer 
Ref: CRPO19 
Salary: £20,000 
Operational Area: The Colne Valley 
Location: 
Colne Valley Park Visitors Centre, Denham, Uxbridge 
Hours: 
Mon-Fri, 9am – 5pm  
Contract Type: Fixed term until March 31st 2020 (with possibility of extension).

Role Description: 
From internationally rare chalk streams in its rural headwaters to the braided river network of the Colne Valley Regional Park, the Colne catchment is a special place with a diverse range of waterbodies covering over 1000km2 across parts of Herts, Bucks, London, Berks and Surrey.

The successful candidate will work alongside the host of the Colne Catchment Action Network and key partner organisations to deliver an exciting array of river improvement projects.

The successful candidate should have a passion for freshwater wildlife conservation, a knowledge of the pressures affecting the Colne Catchment’s rivers, excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn from others. You will also need to be flexible in regards to occasional out of hours working and be prepared to travel to sites independently via car.

The position provides the perfect opportunity for a post graduate to gain valuable experience in river catchment management and freshwater ecology. You will engage with a variety of partners and gain valuable skills as you work to improve the river network for both wildlife and local people.
