Our client is one of the largest locally based housing organisations in the East Midlands.

Are you compassionate, empathetic and motivated? If so they have a position that is ideal for you.

They are recruiting for Support Staff for two of their supported living teams in Mansfield and Ashfield. These services are 24 hour and 365 days a year so your help will make a difference. Currently this is for supporting individuals with Mental Health issues, Learning Difficulties, Autism and Challenging Behaviour. See the attached about me form for more information about one of their customers you could potentially support!

A typical day will look like ensuring service users are exercising choice and control over their lives, in particular making sure they are able to live as independently as possible. This will entail assisting with integration into the community and enabling them to participate in leisure activities. Alongside this you will be required to devise and implement support plans around medication and personal care e.g. health and hygiene.

If the adjectives integrity, respect and dignity mean a lot to you, you’ll be a perfect fit within their service. Furthermore your potential colleagues want you to know that “You will be working with a diverse, friendly and supportive team but no two days are the same”.

Please note that due to the needs of the customers, there may be elements of moving and handling, risk management and physical intervention involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties. A full valid driving licence is desirable but not essential.

As part of working for PST North, you will be expected to cover absences for various locations across Bassetlaw, Newark and Chesterfield required, which could also include personal care.

All successful candidates will be required to work on a shift basis over a 24 hour period including weekends, bank holidays and sleep- ins; a 33% bonus is paid for waking nights and double time paid for Christmas and New Year shifts. In addition, an allowance of £36.78 is also paid for sleep-ins. Core shifts are 14.30-22.00 including a sleep in shift then 07.00-14.30. There are also a variety of additional 1:1 shifts between 07.00 and 22.00

Want to know why you should work with them?

  • c36.5 days leave a year with additional 2 days after 5 years service
  • Healthcare Cash Back Plan worth up to £1200 per year on your routine healthcare costs e.g. Dentist, opticians etc.

Although the role is based in North Nottinghamshire areas you will be required to attend their Head Office in Nottingham to attend a 1 day Corporate Induction. Travel cost will be reasonably reimbursed.

All successful candidates will be required to take a numerical and literacy test prior to the interview.

All correspondence will be via your registered email address.

You will need to attach a CV in order to apply for this role.
