What you will be doing

In this exciting new role, you will lead the Heath Park team and will oversee the development and implementation of all Students’ Union activity delivered at the Heath Park campus. This post is created in line with our strategic aspirations to increase provision at the Heath Park Campus as outlined within the current Strategic Plan, and we’re looking to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated individual to drive forward changes and create new opportunities.

You will be required to develop new activity across the academic year that both increases engagement with the student population (studying on campus and away on placement), and improves overall satisfaction with the Students’ Union.  This post will manage a full time coordinator and any student staff recruited to support activity as needed. You will work closely with staff based at Cathays across the Marketing and Communications and student facing engagement teams such as Advice, Activities and Student Voice to tailor and shape department activity for Heath Park students.

As a Head of Department, you’ll be asked to develop a department strategy and annual performance objectives for the team, you’ll be responsible for setting and monitoring department budgets and will be required to produce relevant papers for consideration on a number of boards within the governance structure. You will be required to develop engagement plans by analysing key data sets to inform decision making, ensuring information is robust and based on evidence.

Stakeholder management is a vital part of this role, as you will be the main point of contact for all stakeholder relationships at the Heath Park campus, both within the University staffing team and the NHS hospital site.

If you’re passionate about making a difference to the lives of students by leading the development of engaging, supportive and innovative services and activities, then this role is for you and we would love to hear from you.
