Member Engagement Officer
Salary £21,000 – £23,000 (depending on experience)
Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) is the North’s leading membership organisation for social housing providers and enjoys strong relationships with local and national government, representing the views of housing organisations across the North. NHC provide a range of products and services aimed at ensuring that the interests of the North are fully consulted, represented and served at sub-regional, regional and national level.
We’re looking to appoint a Member Engagement Officer to our Member Engagement team.
This is a key role for us. We want to ensure that housing policy works for the North. You will help us do this by supporting the Member Engagement team to engage with our members. You will work closely with the NHC membership to help them understand the issues facing their organisations and communities and develop peer support networks and disseminate emerging best practice.
You will also help us influence decision-makers and policy shapers – by tracking and interpreting emergent and existing housing policy and legislation and analysing the impact on member organisations across the North.
The role would be ideally suited to candidates interested in developing a career in policy, engagement or communications. You will have a sound understanding of housing policy and be able to analyse policy developments and needs.
This role is based in our offices in Sunderland, with scope for some flexible working. You would also be required to travel within the North of England. A full current driving licence is preferred, but not essential.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon, Thursday 25th July 2019. Interviews will take place on Thursday 1st August 2019.
For an informal discussion (after you have received the application pack), please contact Kate Maughan, Director of Member Engagement on 0191 566 1000.
