As a result of an increase in demand for its services J H Wood Ltd based in Berwick upon Tweed and operating throughout Northumberland the Scottish Borders are looking for enthusiastic permanent and temporary Fabrication and Mechanical Engineers to join and complement its existing engineering team. This renowned family owned engineering company works across a range of industries, including, manufacturing, food processing, agriculture and forestry. 

With a reputation for great engineering, its expertise ranges from complex, bespoke fabrication and precision-machined parts to simple repairs and component replacement for all types of plant, machinery and structural steelwork. It also specialises in providing tailored engineering and fabrication solutions for heritage and contemporary architectural projects.
Working both on and off site, the ideal candidates for these varied roles, will be workshop engineers from a medium to heavy engineering background, who have a broad range of skills and who can work unsupervised and be part of a developing team.

Based in Berwick upon Tweed in North Northumberland.

Full Time Hours. 
£25,000 - £30,000 pa.

What we need:
•   A good knowledge of Mechanical engineering including Welding, Machining, Assemblies 
•         Proven experience with fabrication and engineering equipment such as press brakes, drills, some machine tools and saws
•         City & Guilds or NVQ in Fabrication, Welding or Practical Engineering disciplines advantageous
•         Ability to interpret engineering drawings
•         Driver’s licence is essential
