Job Introduction

Express is looking to recruit two Digital Reporters to join the team in Canary Wharf.

If you're ready to break the internet with exciting headlines, breaking news and exclusive stories, this could be the role for you.

You'll be working on a diverse portfolio spread across royal news, politics, weather, science and all things in between, both around the UK and abroad.

We are Reach because it's what we do.

Every day our newsbrands - national and regional, in print and online - reach millions of people up and down the country. We are the UK's largest news publisher, with influential national newsbrands such as the Daily Mirror, Daily Express, Sunday People, Daily Record, OK! & New! Magazines and more than 100 distinguished regional titles.

Our brands have a long heritage of being trusted sources of news and information, with our editorial conviction and high standards of journalism providing audiences with timely information and opinion across multiple platforms.

Last year we sold 620 million newspapers, with 5 million readers of one of our brands each month. Our network of over 70 websites provide 24/7 coverage of news, sport and showbiz stories, with 8 billion page views per year.

We average 21 million mobile visitors - that's 60% of the entire mobile market. Each month we attract over 32 million unique visitors. That's more than our competitors. You will help us further increase our digital audience into 2019.

Key Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for generating day to day news, writing compelling stories, and building strong relationships to pull in exclusive interviews that add variety and richness to the site.

You'll stay on top of global news sites and content generated by our competitors, work at speed and exercise your knowledge of journalism law where required.

You'll be writing about a diverse mix of news, producing word-perfect, factual content that fits well with the key content of our website and captures our brand voice.

The Ideal Candidate

An experienced digital journalist, familiar with a wide range of digital media software. You'll have an avid interest in the Royal family, and a natural flair for building relationships with PRs and correspondents.

It's a fast-paced environment, so you'll need to work quickly to tight deadlines, as well as react fast to breaking news, monitor social media for latest reactions and ensure that your stories are written for SEO.

You'll be NCTJ-qualified, with experience in a digital newsroom, passionate about news and an expert in celebrity knowledge. You'll be the first to know all the latest stories round the clock, and you'll bring web traffic growth to the newsroom.
