Job Title: REO & Shortfall Administrator
Department: Asset Management
Reports To: Shortfall Manager

Purpose of Role: To provide administration services for the REO & shortfall portfolios, to manage a portfolio of repossessed real estate properties and to effectively communicate with customers and 3rd parties to ensure all customers and 3rd parties requests are met.

Key Accountabilities:
REO Duties:
- To make informed decisions and recommendations on repossession sales whilst ensuring the company's interest and reputation and those of the customer are protected at all times
- Review valuations and quotations for work where appropriate in relation to repossessed properties
- Evaluate listings, offers, auctions and prepare cases for approval
- Manage weekly and monthly reporting of real estate management activities
- Authorise and approve expenditure within mandate limits

Shortfalls Duties:
- To ensure that requests for documents from the courts are responded to in a timely manner.
- To ensure relevant documentation is forwarded to agents managing outsourced shortfalls as requested.
- To telephone borrowers to chase up on monthly payments and arrears.
- To ensure that borrowers bankrupt records are updated on FAMS, PODs lodged with receivers and credit files maintained in line with the requirements of the Credit Reference Agencies
- To provide general administrative and clerical support to the shortfall department as required.
- To ensure the Companys database of litigation on shortfall borrowers is actively managed and kept up to date
- Carry out GB Search checks as required

General Duties:
- Maintain systems and documentation as required by internal and external standards
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to REO and Shortfall as required
- Ensure all communications are in line with company policies, standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable FCA regulations, Data Protection and Money Laundering legislation
- To treat customers fairly at all times
- Adhere to Company policies, standards and procedures
- Proactively manage own personal development

Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Proven and confident telephone manner
- Ability to effectively communicate with people in challenging situations
- Self-motivated
- Able to work to deadlines and follow up with third parties/customers appropriately
- Pro-active approach
- Able to work autonomously
- Good Excel Skills
- Good letter writing skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet targets in a pressurised environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Good Mathematical and English skills to a minimum GCSE level

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- General knowledge of mortgages
- General understanding of property markets
- An understanding of relevant FCA regulations specifically in relation to Treating Customers Fairly
