High profile, leading food manufacturer / distributor has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Packing Front Line Manager to join their Packing team and take responsibility for the day to management of up to 100 team members in conjunction with a second Line Manager and the support of Team / Line Leaders.
You will be expected to proactively coach and develop staff to improve performance and process inefficiencies by way of relevant lean methods and ensure that they meet and exceed the daily plan where possible to meet daily KPIs on all lines.
Key duties will also include:
* Championing both product and packaged quality in accordance with customer quality standards
* Ensuring all product movement and production inputs into their ERP system are accurate and completed in real time
* Utilising product streams and minimising product waste
* Management of shift start-ups in line with staffing start times / controlling overtime and keeping absence to a minimum
* Ensuring Food Safety standards are positively promoted, and product quality is maintained
* Management of the staff performance review system, undertaking return to work interviews and conducting disciplinary and grievance investigations as necessary
The successful Packing Front Line Manager must possess the following criteria:
* Proven management experience within a manufacturing environment
* An Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate - current / up to date
* Ambitious, self-motivated and driven to improve processes and achieve results, motivate staff, prioritise workloads and deadlines
* Solution focused
* Excellent time management
* A food / process manufacturing background
* Knowledge of quality and compliance systems and good IT skills: Excel & Word
