We are very excited to be working with a major hospitality real estate group. This organisation has a portfolio of 46 properties in 5 different countries. Their focus is expanding their presence in the upscale, upper scale and lifestyle hotel market.

The Financial Controller is a key member of the hotel leadership and UK finance leadership teams. The role is responsible for leading the Finance team and completing all financial activities within the property including Financial, Management & Statutory Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting, Working Capital Management and ensuring Control & Compliance.

Your Responsibilities will include:-

• Responsible for all aspects of Accounting and Financial Control within the property

• Leading and developing the hotel Finance team and supporting the wider development of UK Finance talent

• Acting as a broad financial sparring partner for Hotel management and other business stakeholders

• To establish, monitor and mitigate risk by ensuring a robust Financial control environment within the hotel

• Active collaboration with other Finance colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvement and embedding best tools, systems & ways of working

• Interpret, explain and drive performance within the property

• Holding informed discussion with third party representatives including insurers, auditors, investors, suppliers, procurement specialists etc

• Preparing the annual Budget, monthly rolling forecasts and weekly flash forecast

• Advising on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs and opportunities

• Maximising cashflow performance and managing procedures on inventory, credit & collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances

• Providing proactive support to hotel management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance

• Actively takes the lead and provides a positive role model for leadership

• Keeps the bigger picture in mind and is able to balance competing priority sets

• Has personal drive, sets high standards and clear performance expectations

• Demonstrates a continuous business improvement focus by challenging the way things are done and how to do them even better

• Creates a positive and motivating working climate that encourages and achieves high levels of engagement and commitment within a team

• Is proactive about supporting and developing self and others to learn, develop and grow in order to achieve their potential

• Creates & maintains positive and productive working relationships

What we need from you:

• Bachelor or Master degree (hospitality, business, economics or accounting)

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA)

• Excellent written and verbal English

• 10 years + Industry Experience

• Good knowledge of Excel, Opera, Vision, INFOR SUN and SAP is advantageous
