Purpose of Post

The Data Analyst/Researcher will be responsible for researching and analysing global news data to identify events that meet a certain criteria required for reporting. You will be required to summarise and report on events and load data into an online platform. You will also be required to research sources of data and act as the authoritative voice for clients and colleagues, providing support and knowledge on the data studied and research conducted.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, analyse and interpret data using a methodological approach and provide summary reports on findings;

  • Pro-actively monitor relevant data sources and input data into relevant system;

  • Research and analyse data sources to seek efficient ways to collect global event data such as API's and daily feeds etc;

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases, data systems;

  • To convert research findings into strategic outcomes / prepare written reports, web briefings and other documentation as required.

  • Liaise with external data service providers and review options for the automated data feeds.

  • Attend training courses provided by the company and maintain awareness and adherence to company policies and processes;

  • Adhere to all company policies included within the Employee Handbook in particular the Code of Business Ethics, the Equality and Diversity Policy, the Health & Safety Policy, Internet and Email Policy and other asset related policies.

Essentials Skills and Experience

  • Education and Qualifications

    • Relevant degree in Data Analysis, Research, Statistics etc

    • A level in English and Maths is required

  • Knowledge/Experience

    • Knowledge of and experience of researching global data sets

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

    • Report writing
