Early Learning and Childcare : a career that makes a difference.
This is an extremely exciting time for Early Learning and Childcare as we take forward the expansion of funded ELC provision to 1140 hours by 2020.
Working in this profession is hugely rewarding as it makes a real difference to children's lives. If you enjoy spending time with young children and you're passionate about helping them grow and learn - then you could have what it takes to work in Early Learning and Childcare.
This post would be suitable for School leavers, careers changers or those with a Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services(Children and Young People).
The Graduate Apprenticeship Programme is an innovative and new route to join the Early Years and Childcare sector The programme will enable you to achieve a BA in Early Learning and Childcare (SCQF 9), whilst in employment, and gain practitioner status within 3 years.
Argyll and Bute Council delivers ELC provision for children aged 2-5 years. As part of this graduate apprenticeship you will be based in a Local Authority ELC setting and you will be expected to attend University one day per week during term time.
3 Highers at C or above with English desirable
Or Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) in Social Services: Children and Young People plus 1 higher
For career changers/mature students who do not have 3 Highers or FA, alternative qualifications/experience will be considered
