The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust delivers acute services from The Hillingdon Hospital, as well as some services from The Mount Vernon Hospital. The Trust has a turnover of around GBP250m and employs over 3,300 staff. We deliver high quality healthcare to the residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon, and increasingly to those living in the surrounding areas of Ealing, Harrow, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, giving us a total catchment population of over 350,000 people.
This is a challenging time for the Trust. We face significant operational pressures through increased demand. We are currently rated by CQC as Requires Improvement, do not meet some of our constitutional standards, have an underlying GBP23m deficit and we have an extremely poor estate. However, we're not daunted by the scale of the challenge and have clear plans in place to get a grip on operational performance as well as improve effectiveness and efficiency. We have launched Brunel Partners Academic Centre for Health Sciences, a new centre providing the perfect setting for research and developing new methods of healthcare delivery across allied health, nursing, social care and medicine and we are developing plans to build a new academic health campus that would include a new hospital for us.
We are seeking a Chief Nurse who can play an integral role in leading and inspiring our c3000 strong team of fantastic nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals. A key member of the leadership team and a voting Board member, the Chief Nurse will lead the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards and the development of leadership capacity within nursing, midwifery and healthcare professionals and will be our Executive lead in a number of key areas, including patient safety, patient experience and safeguarding.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated experienced nurse leader, with excellent communication skills to work as part of our dedicated and experienced executive leadership team. We are looking for someone with a passion for patient care and the ability to think strategically and to work effectively as part of a team able to drive innovation and inspire those around them, above all else you will evidence a commitment and aspiration to drive continuous improvement and strong ambition to deliver the best for the populations we serve.
