About us

At Christian Aid we have a vision of a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. Join us to inspire churches, supporters and volunteers to play their part in bringing this vision closer to reality.

About the role

Through the nurturing and building of relationships you will motivate and enable church leaders, church congregations, volunteers and Christian Aid groups to respond to poverty through raising more money, campaigning and prayer. You will work with and through others to increase the engagement of churches in your area. You will help raise the profile of Christian Aid across local and church media. You will also support the wider work of the Westside regional team. This role is fixed term. You will be based, with other colleagues and volunteers, in the Christian Aid office in Birmingham.

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the vision of Christian Aid and has the confidence, skills and energy to strengthen our partnerships and to fundraise with churches and individuals across North Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull. As part of the Westside Regional team you will need to be able to work well with other staff members and independently take responsibility for the work in your county. You will need to be well organised and able to plan and balance a diverse workload.

You will have experience of working with churches and of bringing out the best in volunteers; fundraising and campaigning; giving presentations or preaching and will have competent IT skills. You will also have a good understanding of international development issues and Christian Aid’s core supporter base in the churches. You will be an excellent communicator, able to motivate and inspire people of faith to give, act and pray for Christian Aid using biblical principles and faith-based language. Knowledge of churches in the specified geographical area would be an advantage.
