Laboratory Technician

You'll be involved in a variety of laboratory-based investigations and analyses; these can include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analysing results.

Your job is to provide all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively, while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.

* The purpose of the role will be to assist in the sample preparation and testing of raw materials, fertilisers, soils, waters and environmental products in a fast-paced laboratory ensuring the quality of every batch produced and dispatched, and compliance with various regulations. Preparing and analysing production samples

* Working with the sales team and agronomists to undertake soil sampling projects where and when required

* Documenting all soil samples arriving in the laboratory and preparing them for analysis

* Documenting, checking and reporting test results

* Assisting in general laboratory duties such as maintenance and cleaning of equipment, stock control and ordering of chemicals etc.

* Assisting in site environmental sampling of emissions to air and water

* Project work to improve product performance or identity reasons of product failure

* Covering for the Laboratory Supervisor during holidays etc, by taking the day-to-day quality and laboratory decisions in her absence

* Studying or has achieved a relevant A Level Qualification (A Level Chemistry preferred)

* Applicants will need a minimum of 3 GCSEs at A*-C (9-4) Grades including in English and Mathematics based subjects or equivalent

* Weekly wage GBP336.00

Working week Shifts TBC. Total hours per week: 40.00 with extra hours where necessary.

Things to consider Must have own transport in order to be able to travel to both the workplace and North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe
