Bridge College are a specialist FE college based in Openshaw, Manchester. They meet the needs of students up to the age of 25 years with learning difficulties and disabilities, complex needs, communication disorders and autism. Our students take part in a wide range of subjects and have access to therapists, hydrotherapy, sensory rooms, gardens and other internal and external specialist facilities.

As our supported internship tutor with management, you will…

Deliver high quality learning and assessment to students at the college. Working with young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, you will enable them to pursue their ambitions of gaining sustainable employment.

You will develop and deliver an innovative and progressive supported internship curriculum which clearly evidences accreditation opportunities, including the recognising and recording progress and achievement (RARPA) process.

You will design and manage person-centred and individual learning plans with comprehensive targets set for individuals. You will ensure the curriculum will cover the areas of employability, job skills, maths and English. Working collaboratively with other staff members, you will ensure the needs of the students are addresses and learning is accessible and inclusive.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will hold a level 5 qualification or degree in a related vocational area and have experience of working with and teaching young people with learning difficulties, disabilities and autism. Comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will have knowledge and understanding of accredited learning, assessment and moderation processes and have experience of developing a curriculum and accreditation of learning.

With excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills, you will have a positive attitude to trying new approaches and have experience of working with a range of partners and employers. A teaching qualification is essential, as is a full and clean driving licence and business use insurance on own vehicle.
