Assembly Technician (Electro-Mechanical)
ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN (ELECTRO-MECHANICAL)
BASED LIVINGSTON - SALARY GBP22-22,500 PLUS EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE
ESS' client is based in Livingston. Well established, they are a high technology equipment supplier into a range of sectors; including, medical devices, electronics, semiconductors and industrial manufacturing. Currently enjoying a period of high growth they need to make the key hire of an Assembly Technician with an electro-mechanical and product alignment background.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the Assembly Technician will help ensure the accurate and timely build of a new photonics product that sits within the current product family range. The new product will be required to be assembled and tested within a controlled environment. This position will involve high precision mechanical component and parts alignment, testing of components and calibration of optical instrumentation. Other core responsibilities include:
Use of measuring equipment, interpretation of engineering drawings, collection of performance metrics.
To ensure all work carried out is built in accordance with build and assembly procedures and carried out in a timely manner.
To ensure all work carried out is built in accordance with approved company procedures.
Assist in writing build procedures / work instructions
Maintain final test records of completed units
Ensure that all work carried out is done so with full awareness of the relevant Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
To trouble-shoot processing problems, to ensure non-conforming assemblies, sub-assemblies, parts, materials and processes are identified and appropriate actions are taken to resolve the non-conformance.
To liaise with the Production and Test areas of the Company and suggest remedies to minimise Non-Conforming Reports and product rework.
To ensure that all equipment is correctly used, stored and maintained Educated to HNC/HND in a mechanical or electrical discipline (or time served) applicants should have a good understanding of precision electro-mechanical or optical product assemblies. This will suit candidates involved in the design, build, assembly and test of electro-mechanical or laser based products and systems. The successful candidate will also be familiar with current production practices and measuring equipment. It is expected that the candidate has an accurate working practice, a high degree of attention to detail and is able to maintain a tidy and organised working environment.
