As the Senior Portfolio Manager for Argos Financial Services, you will responsible for the delivery of the Argos Financial Services (AFS) change portfolio allocated to the AFS delivery team. You will be our figurehead for the AFS change community, adapting the way change is delivered by moving towards DevOps, leveraging Agile delivery methods to improve change velocity and quality in line with both Sainsbury's Bank and Sainsbury's Argos frameworks. It will be a priority for you to effectively collaborate and develop positive relationships across Sainsbury's Bank, Argos Retail and J Sainsbury, to successfully deliver the AFS change portfolio.

As the Senior Portfolio Manager, you will;

Work collaboratively with AFS leadership teams to effectively shape, mobilise and deliver the AFS change portfolio to agreed budget.
Be responsible for end-to-end delivery of the aspects of the AFS change portfolio that are managed by the AFS Delivery team.
Drive the adoption of practical and effective governance across the AFS portfolio.
Lead, develop, recruit and coach a team of 15+ change professionals, with a focus on skills attainment and team development. You will inspire high-performing, cross-functional and multi-skilled change delivery teams to successfully deliver the AFS change portfolio.
Drive effective delivery resource assignment and utilisation, in line with fluctuating demand, to ensure optimal productivity, cost efficiency and colleague development.
Collaborate closely with Sainsbury's Argos IT and Digital colleagues to drive effective management and performance of 3rd parties, to deliver the change portfolio.
Own and adapt the AFS change methodology, in conjunction with the Technology Head of Delivery, moving towards DevOps, leveraging Agile delivery methods, building a culture of continuous improvement, shared learning and collaboration.
Inspire colleagues to adapt to the changing environment that Sainsbury's Bank and AFS operate within.
Advocate for, and help mature, the use of waterfall and Agile methods, as appropriate for different types of projects.
Be the escalation point for delivery risks and issues.
Manage AFS investment, ensuring value is delivered often and early.
Manage the AFS change portfolio budget, circa GBP20m.
Adhere to the conduct rules as specified by our regulators (PRA and FCA).

As the Senior Portfolio Manager, you will have;

Extensive change management and transformation experience, being an advocate for change.
Experience in Agile methods (e.g. SCRUM, SAFe etc.) and waterfall hybrid environments.
Excellent relationship management skills, including a proven ability to influence at a Senior Management and Executive level. You'll have the ability to challenge colleagues in a collaborative and constructive manner, have the courage to pose questions to ensure the right, fact-based decisions are always made and be able to represent the perspective of all internal and external stakeholders.
Proven experience of leading with passion and authenticity, creating an engaging environment that amazing people want to be part of. Your values should include enabling and empowering your team.
Excellent commercial expertise to lead procurement and on-going budgetary control activities.
Analytical rigour, the ability to grasp and work through complex problems.
Strong instincts and be deeply aware of the need to manage your messages.
