An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider for a Support Worker in Lincoln.
This is a full time (35 hours), initially a three month contract with the view to an extension and a possibility to go permanent.
The pay rate is GBP10.13 PAYE Plus Holiday Pay OR GBP13.23 Umbrella.
The support workers have the following shifts 8am - 4pm and 3pm - 11pm and weekend working.
A full UK Drivers License and access to a vehicle is required.
As a Support Worker, you will be working with young people offering creative and innovative supported opportunities for them to improve their quality of life develop their skills and make decisions about their future.
You will need to act as individual 'Keyworker' to a group of identified young people, taking lead responsibility within the organisation for the co- ordination and delivery of their support.
An important area of your role will be to draw up and deliver support in accordance with a support plan drawn up during discussion between the young person and their Support Worker and / or Senior Support Worker.
You will be required to assist colleagues in their work with young people and their families, helping to identify needs and to assist in working towards achieving positive outcomes.
Part of your role will be to facilitate regular consultation and action to enable young people to make decisions concerning their resettlement options with a view to independent living.
You will be tasked with assisting in arranging appointments with relevant professionals involved in the young people's support.
You will need to provide advice and assistance to young people on personal budgeting, and claims for welfare benefits with guidance from Senior Support Worker and/or Team Manager.
An integral area of your work will be for you to ensure that, where applicable, housing and property management tasks are effectively undertaken in line with procedure and targets.
Ensure that properties comply with organisation's property standards and are well maintained and equipped, undertaking all the required health & safety checks, taking any necessary redial action and carrying out minor DIY tasks.
You will need to ensure that routine property maintenance and damage is reported promptly to maintenance staff and to co-operate with them in meeting repair response times.
As a Support worker, you will need to ensure the correct tenure and support agreement is issued and young people comply with these agreements, taking appropriate action in respect of non compliance including non engagement with support.
Furthermore, part of your role will be to ensure that void time is minimised by taking a pro-active approach to ensure properties are re-let as soon as possible in line with targets.
