Becoming a Traffic and Transportation Apprentice with Urban Vision:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice to join our Salford based team working within Urban Vision. Working as part of the Traffic and Transportation teams you will assist in the delivery of safe networks for all road users in the area with a focus on transport planning, traffic management, road safety and parking.
The role is rotational allowing you to undertake rotations across the three teams covering parking, traffic and transport, working alongside both the office and field based teams you will gain an insight into how these roles work together whilst also developing key skills needed in the workplace.
As this is an apprentice role, full training is provided both through work and study, the role is ideal for someone who is looking to forge a career in administration and desire to continue to learn and develop in their next role.
What you will do:
* To create and manage databases to ensure an efficient and effective log of information which can be easily accessed by others
* To compile technical drawings using AutoCAD and associated packages
* Provide information for the preparation of reports and presentations
* Support preparation of a variety of management documents such as letters, reports, drawings and presentations
* To liaise with a wide range of audiences to resolve basic queries in a quick and efficient manner both orally and in writing.
* To support and attend events and meetings to promote awareness of transport issues, sharing best practice and maintaining awareness of new initiatives/ technology in the sustainable travel/ transport industry.
Your experience will include:
* Skilled communicator - able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
* Demonstrates excellent customer care with clarity, conviction, enthusiasm and integrity
* To have a flexible approach to deliver the best outcome for our customers.
* Demonstrate a genuine passion for transport including walking and cycling for leisure, commuting and business and an understanding of the benefits of such activity.
* Being a 'smart worker'; carrying out your role in the most efficient and effective way using computer packages as necessary
* Demonstrate respect and caring for others, treating everyone fairly; listening and acting on the things people say.
