Biology Technician
The work location is in Cardiff and is a Contract role.
The role is working for a leading global medical technology and life sciences company. They provide a broad portfolio of products, solutions and services used in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients and in the development and manufacture of bio-pharmaceuticals.
Description
This role will involve manufacturing, QC testing, dispensing and packaging of Biological/Chemical products used in protein and DNA purification and identification
Key Skills:
- Must have Biological and/or Chemical Experience
- Understanding of cGMP systems
- Understanding of EHS system
- Science Graduate with 0-2 year's relevant laboratory experience OR "A" Levels with six years relevant laboratory experience (or equivalent).
Accountabilities:
- To manufacture, dispense, label, package or QC test biological and chemical products, highlighting any quality or manufacturing issues if they occur.
- To maintain good housekeeping and safety within the lab by working with the area supervisor to complete chemical expiry checks, waste disposal, stock maintenance and PPE checks.
- To raise and implement ideas that drive improvements in productivity, safety and quality.
- To conform to systems that aid with standard ways of working within the biology manufacturing team.
- Working within a team in a lab - based environment
- Following standard operating procedures to ensure the high quality manufacture of Biological and Chemical products (eg magnetic beads, western blotting reagents and PCR reagents).
