Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Community Rehabilitation Division (DDC) is part of the KSS CRC Probation. We provide a broad range of probation services for adult offenders on community orders or licenses. We focus on quality of practice to reduce re-offending, improve the safety of the communities we serve and improve the life chances of those within the Dorset, Devon and Cornwall (DDC) criminal justice system.

The Probation Officer and Criminal Justice Social Worker roles offer the opportunity to work with our most complex service users to develop a detailed understanding of their offending and needs, then deliver on plans to improve their circumstances and behaviour. A strong back ground in risk assessment and the delivery of behaviour change interventions is essential to this role. You will be a leading member of the team utilising your probation officer or social work qualification to develop interventions and lend expertise in managing risk of harm. Our practitioners have the opportunity to work in specialist areas such as domestic abuse, resettlement following custody and female service users.
Skills & Experience
* Be suitably qualified as a social worker or probation officer
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Be empathetic and caring
* Be resilient and determined
* Be willing to contribute to the development of our service and the teams you are a part of
* Effectively utilise the support of your manager and colleagues to achieve results
* Be willing to have fun at work
* Be able to learn and develop
* Be highly flexible and able to travel in the local area as required
* Be able to motivate others and engage service users in
