Assistant Herd Manager in Stirlingshire Ref 2579

The Farm:
This farm is situated 35 minutes from Glasgow and Stirling with astonishing views on Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. 1,000 acres dairy farm with 550 cows. Four workers on the farm with herd manager, tractor driver and owner working on the farm.
The herd are housed all year round with cubicles on mats and loose straw. The herd are milked in a 24/48 swing over parlour and are TMR fed.
Our client is very forward thinking farmer, constant improvement, anaerobic digester under construction will provide renewable energy to heat the building and cool the milk.

The Role:
Our client is seeking a candidate who can work independently, needs to be computer literate, no smoker preferred and AI skills essential. Other duties will be calving, milking, feet trimming, med administration, selective dry cow therapy and putting records into a computer system.
Working pattern: one weekend on, one weekend off, working days finishes 5pm on the working weekend: morning milking, AI, do what needs to be done and go home.

The Applicant:
We are seeking a candidate with experience in all key activities however if one or two missing the farmer will provide training.
Driving licence is essential for this role.

House is 3 bedroom cottage with modern kitchen and large garden situated approx 0.5 from the village

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
