Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing consultation and support to both external customers and internal sales and service teams on the full range of site efficiency services and products available.

Using both 'on and off machine' site efficiency technologies and techniques this role is responsible for identifying the optimum utilisation for customers. It will help them maximize productivity and minimize the Total Cost of Ownership. Specific focus will initially be on the use of Co Pilot & the Assist Technologies, CareTrack & Insight reports and both EcoOperator and Simulator options. This role will be responsible for related new technologies as and when they become available.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

• Be the subject matter expert and business 'go to' person for on and off-board site efficiency products and services. The Product Manager is expected to understand both the technical (support) and end user aspects of products to ensure the smooth on-boarding and long-term adoption of technologies by customers.
• Deliver training, and support on-site efficiency products and services to SMT sales and service teams including supporting ASMs, CSRs and SMT sub Dealers on site and in customer meetings.
• Carry out the 'EcoOperator Programme' and 'Simulator Programme' as scheduled either through the sales of Level 3 CSAs or as separate bookings via Flex options. Evaluate and follow up with the customer to sustain results.
• Assist Volvo and SMT in the further development of existing or future site-efficiency products (feature requests, pilot tests, upgrades etc.)
• Keep up to date with the latest innovations and technologies within SMT's product line and the competitors.
• Work in accordance with SMT GB standards of health, safety, quality and environmental care.

Essential Skills

• Technical understanding of heavy construction equipment
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of the key drivers in customers' adoption of site efficiency technologies.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify critical information quickly and demonstrate benefits and ROI from technologies
• Excellent IT skills
• Excellent customer service skills & a proactive approach to customer relationships
• Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise.

• Demonstrates high standards of professional conduct.
• Knowledge and understanding of different operating techniques and control systems across ADT, Wheel Loader and Excavator.
• A customer service background with experience of customer contact with external customers
• Understanding of sales, aftermarket sales and service in a similar environment

Education / Professional Qualifications required for the position:

• Relevant operator qualification (Commercial Driving Licence)
• IT literate with ability to interpret and manipulate data
• Hold a full driving licence
• Desirable: a formal Engineering qualification would be useful but is not essential
• Desirable: experience of delivering training
