THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking to recruit a Management Accountant for a 12 month FTC to join the International Management Accounts team. You will provide support to local finance teams in 24 different countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and Middle East.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monthly reporting
Check that all countries have completed their variance analysis reports
Query any unexpected variances in the monthly management accounts with the relevant local finance team
Annual reporting
Prepare year end consolidation package templates for distribution to local finance teams. Review final drafts and ensure that all are ready for audit according to the year end timetable
Support local finance teams in understanding any IFRS adjustments required for their entity
Be a point of contact for external auditors
Liaise with local finance teams to post year end and local statutory journals
Support local finance teams in completing the local to group reconciliation process
Local finance team liaison
Lead the quarterly Financial Controller calls
Attend and present at Financial Controller conferences
Carry out regular visits to local finance teams in different countries to build relationships and trouble shoot specific issues
Assist with inductions for new Financial Controllers and local finance team members
Act as a point of contact in central finance for local finance teams, including responding to queries and requests for information
Projects, working on various ad hoc projects such as:
Transition of work from one team to another
Setting up or acquisition of new entities
Demerger and restructure of entities
Supporting local finance teams with implementation of new software
Assisting on business compliance review visits
Following up on financial risks identified in local finance teams
Support improvements to financial controls and other efficiencies
Contributing to various meetings in central finance
ABOUT YOU
Be a qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
Have a strong technical background and be confident technically
Previous international exposure would be preferable and be willing to travel internationally
Be comfortable meeting and building up relationships with members of the local finance teams
Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be fluent in English
Have an interest in finance systems
