We are looking to recruit an outstanding individual to become a pivotal part of our Project Controller Group (PCG) Lite Team within the Engagement Support Services (ESS) function based in Cardiff. This is an exciting and new opportunity to join our fast paced and growing team, and to be at the forefront of efficient working practices for the firm's service lines and clients.
Your role
PCG Lite provides centralised project financial management services to the Deloitte Consulting client projects. Our core principles are to bring process efficiency, to operate a process of continual improvement and to drive consistency across all project financial management tasks. You will work as part of a dedicated skillset team to help achieve these principles, with a coaching and mentoring structure in place to provide you with guidance and support. Though the PCG Lite function is not a direct client facing team, we are involved in assisting the completion and delivery of engagement finances giving you a broad insight into how Deloitte manages client project finances.

Your responsibilities
As a PCG Lite Team Leader you will be responsible for oversight of your PCG Lite Team and supporting team members with the completion of their tasks. In addition, you will have responsibility for delivering a comprehensive range of project financial and financial system (SAP) tasks.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for allocation of projects, performance management and development of the PCG Lite supporting team members
- Building effective relationships both with your clients and in the wider PCG Lite, PCG team and ESS community
- Deputising for your Line Manager as required
- Co-ordination and undertaking of team and individual performance management, talent development and 1-2-1's of your assigned team
- Mentoring and coaching those on your team and the wider PCG Lite
- Supporting management with the design and implementation of continual improvements and team developments
- Having a strong understanding of Project Controller and Deloitte processes.
- Supporting Consulting business unit with the delivery of project financial support and practice management related administrative tasks
- Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
- Support transactional activities for PCG based in London and Belfast
- Financial management for simple projects and/or portfolio of projects
- Quality review of Consulting PCG Lite team member outputs
- Supporting in the creation of WBS codes for new client projects, completing necessary procedures and set up of new engagement/client records in SAP
- Updating internal systems with up to date client project information
- Ensuring compliance and contractual requirements are met and maintained throughout the duration of client engagements
- Calculating client billing amounts, performing WIP analysis and producing a variety of financial reports as required
- Producing client reporting documents using Microsoft Office tools
- Chasing clients for outstanding invoices
- Providing engagement financial support to consulting engagement managers and project controller group
- Organising and taking meeting minutes and producing meeting agendas
- Completing engagement close down procedures, such as producing final bills and archiving

Your professional experience
- Demonstrable experience working in financial or accounting support role
- Experience of managing a team preferably working within a shared or global business service for a professional services organisation
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills able to understand and interpret financial data, recommending financial changes and adjustments
- Experience in ensuring that service delivery standards, controls and effectiveness are maintained at the highest level
- Able to advise and guide customers, leaders and peers towards effective outcomes through insightful data analysis and creative idea generation
