Our client has an exciting opportunity for an expert in properties and health and safety to join their Central Services team.

Properties and Health and Safety Manager

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £33,000

In this role you’ll be responsible for evaluating our client's business premises and working with others within the business to scope and create a strategy for future premises needs. You’ll lead and coordinate new premises searches and will project manage all premises moves, ensuring that all legal and health and safety obligations are met.

In addition you’ll make sure existing premises continue to be maintained in accordance with all lease terms. You’ll lead and project manage major repairs and will act as a single point of contact for landlord and sub-contractor liaison. You’ll manage and report on annual budgets and will prepare regular updates for the Board/Directorate on property assets and liabilities.

The role also involves leading on delivering health and safety compliance across all premises owned by the company. You’ll oversee health and safety reviews, ensuring that actions from these reviews are followed up in a timely fashion and that policies are kept relevant and up to date.

The role will be based in our client's Exeter office but will involve travel to a number of sites across Devon and Dorset so applicants must be willing and able to travel as necessary. There will also be an opportunity to spend some of the time working from home.

What the organisation is looking for 
They are looking for someone with a good understanding of property management and maintenance that is supported by either vocational experience or a professional qualification. You’ll be comfortable managing budgets, finance and projects and will have experience in records management and information systems. You’ll also have excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation.  

In addition, you’ll be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and time management skills. You’ll take pride in delivering excellent customer service and will be able to build strong relationships, both internally and externally. The role is based across a number so sites so you’ll spend time travelling across Devon and Dorset and will need to be confident in managing your own priorities and delivering multiple projects to deadline and within budget. You’ll be joining a small and friendly team so you’ll need to have a flexible attitude and be happy to get involved in a range of activities as required.
