MPFT is looking to recruit an Electrician (Engineering Craftsperson) who would like to work within the field of property maintenance in the NHS and join the in-house maintenance team. This is a key role reporting to the Maintenance and Minor Works Supervisors. The candidate will have a good knowledge of building electrical systems.
Duties cover a range of building electrical work including planned and breakdown maintenance, servicing, specialist testing, fault finding and repair of equipment and installation work.
The job is based in Longton but the role requires travel to MPFT and partner sites throughout North Staffordshire. You will have access to a vehicle for work purposes and must possess a driving license.
Key Responsibilities of the post will include undertaking a range of repairs and core craft electrical and general engineering duties and associated works for the Trust and its outside Partner customers. To maintain engineering services and equipment at a range of sites consisting of Hospitals, GP Surgeries, Health Centres, Resource Centres and Offices whilst at all times observing all relevant Health and Safety Guidelines and Regulations.
The basic working week is 37.5 hours, Monday-Friday 08:30 to 16:30. You must however, have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours including overtime and call outs as workload demands, for which additional payment is made. The position is also eligible for the NHS pension scheme along with access to a wide range of staff benefits, and in addition to public bank holidays annual leave of 27 days on appointment rising to 29 days after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years.
You must possess a relevant formal electrical qualification and be conversant with electrical regulations. Attention to detail is a must, so we are looking for someone who will take pride in the highest standards of work. You must possess good literacy skills and the ability to work on your own and work as part of the maintenance team to achieve shared goals.
You will meet and deal with a variety of people including staff, service users and visitors and therefore must have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively with our customers.
