Job Introduction

We're looking for a talented salesperson to join our busy, thriving Events team. Based in Leicester, Derby or Nottingham, the Sponsorship Account Manager will sell sponsorship and digital media packages to clients interested in being represented at our events.

We average 21 million mobile visitors - that's 60% of the entire mobile market. Each month we attract over 32 million unique visitors. That's more than our competitors. You will help us further increase our digital audience into 2019.


Key Responsibilities

Newspapers aren't just newspapers anymore. Readers now engage with news brands 6 times a day using multiple devices including; mobile, desktop, apps, Facebook and Twitter. We host an expanding portfolio of events ranging from exhibitions to award ceremonies. With this in mind, you will be responsible for:

  • Growing event revenues and driving profit across a portfolio of print and digital products
  • Proactively identifying and targeting new clients via prospecting and using market intelligence
  • Sourcing sponsorship from new and existing customers
  • Identifying customer needs with a consultative approach and proposing comprehensive advertising solutions
  • Guaranteeing a high quality of customer service is delivered each time

The Ideal Candidate

This role is all about relationships; you'll need to be a confident communicator, familiar with the digital landscape. Strong negotiation skills and closing abilities are essential for this role, as well as the ability to source new leads and secure business right through to completion.

You'll need to a people person, happy to host a table of corporate clients at one of our events, as well as being comfortable with account management and building those relationships up on a daily basis.

You'll be working towards set targets, but we want someone who isn't afraid to smash the glass ceiling. Why meet targets when you can exceed them? We want you to have a real passion and drive; for sales, for building revenue and a tenacity that will serve you well with your new and existing clients.

You must also hold a full valid UK driving licence, as client visits will be a large part of your role day to day.
