Position Description

Chubb Systems are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a challenging role based out of our Blackburn office with extensive South West travel. A key role within Chubb Systems you will provide advice and report on and control all commercial and financial aspects of projects and contracts. The role includes offering support to the Project Manager, or more senior member of the Commercial Team, to allow projects to be safely delivered on time, to budget and to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

In addition to this the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will also work within the Commercial function here at Chubb Systems, working towards providing commercial expertise for projects to maximise returns by working within robust procedures. Preferably with professional experience within a similar role, you will have an acute awareness and understanding and working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building, Civil Engineering and Building Services industry.

Required Experience

Knowledge and Skills:
Awareness and understanding and working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building, Civil Engineering and Building Services industry, including experience of the JCT standard suite of Contracts and the NEC 2 and 3 suites of contracts is essential.
Good working knowledge of standard forms of measurement, including SMM7 and NRM 1 2.
Full Driving License essential.
Exceptional IT Skills particularly using MS Excel, MS Word.

Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
Exceptional relationship building skills
Self-motivated and proactive
Commercial awareness and understanding of the Construction processes
Excellent communication skills, both oral written
Negotiation skills and ability to apply those skills internally, externally with our supply chain.
