This is an opportunity for someone to enter as a trainee or progress in the poultry industry, as a poultry farm manager to work at one of our broiler farms. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, self motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated.
Job Description
A good eye for detail is essential.
The successful candidate must have an interest in livestock and animal welfare.
Experience is not essential, however the successful applicant must be prepared to work towards their Poultry Passport.
The role will include day to day duties on a modern broiler farm.
This is a responsible position, which needs the successful candidate to be a team player and also happy to work alone.
You will be required to work 6 days per week and to work out of hours, when the job dictates.
Responsibilities and Duties
Walking the chicken houses daily and identifying illness, feed problems, general flock wellbeing and building maintenance.
Ensuring biosecurity measures are met.
Managing the houses, feeders and drinkers
Use of poultry house computers to monitor bird performance and wellbeing
Respond to alarms calls in an urgent and timely manner.
Accommodation is provided in the form of a house
A company pension scheme is provided
