The department

Our team of business services staff play a significant role in the success of Dentons, and we recruit staff into a wide variety of areas. Here, we look for focused, flexible individuals from a variety of backgrounds who are team players. Previous experience within the legal sector is not essential. We want to give everyone the opportunity to develop his or her potential fully and, therefore, provide support, training and encouragement to members of staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

First point of contact for all HR administration staff queries.
Advising staff on standard policies and procedures.
Originate and maintain all records for all staff in the UK (excluding Partners).
Monitor the HR shared inbox to ensure that all queries are responded to promptly, directing and escalating queries as required.
Full ownership of administration for all HR processes including but not limited to: leavers, maternity, paternity, performance reviews and contractual variations.
Creation of payroll forms, ensuring the necessary approval is obtained from HR Advisory, and sent to payroll in time for the monthly payroll cut off.
Coordination of the onboarding process for interns, apprentices, trainees and experienced hires.
Produce letters and addendums in a timely and accurate manner.
Produce and distribute weekly absence reports.
Update and maintain Organisation Charts.
Holiday and salary calculations.
Coordinate new joiner induction.
Updates to HR portal.
Processing HR related invoices.
Maintain accurate information on the HRIS and other filing systems.

Required experience, skills and attributes

Fluent spoken and written English is a must.
Familiar with UK employment law.
Experience in a similar role in an HR department managing high volumes of administration.
Strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail and quality.
Excellent customer facing skills.
Experience of working within a law firm, corporate environment, recruitment agency or professional services organisation would be preferable but not essential.
Continuous improvement mindset.
