My client is a well established freight forwarder seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team:
Daily duties include:
- To plan, direct and control the activities of the transport fleet including sub-contractors to optimise cost effectiveness and use of resources
- Consistently produce optimum vehicle, work and route allocation in terms of timings and cost
- Develop a network of transport services to ensure services are delivered cost effectively
- Ensuring collections and deliveries are organised and conducted in line with customer requirements
- Managing a portfolio of apporved suppliers
- Maintaining a road worthy fleet including organising ad-hoc or regular servicing of vehicles
- Reviewing tariffs
- Producing KPI and financial reports where required
