Develop the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory and consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast.
This is a senior Production Planning Manager role.The sales forecast, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans. Strong collaboration with Operations, Sales, Customer service and management will be critical to meeting business goals. This is a Senior Supply Chain role that will suit a Supply Chain Manager with extensive production and materials scheduling experience in a high volume manufacturing organisation.
??Manage the creation of a rolling Master Production Plan.
??Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales and new business opportunities.
??Perform supply demand analysis, highlighting areas of concern.
??Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit base.
??Project finished goods inventory levels on a quarterly basis supporting inventory turn targets.
??Monitor actual output versus the Master Production plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including a metric on production performance to the requested production schedule.
??Timely reporting of key metrics.
??Management of a team of individuals with responsibilities for the production and regular updating of plans.
??Create improvements in the planning process to continually deliver optimum cost and lead time.
??Facilitate the daily production/scheduling meeting to ensure operations team work together to achieve desired output.
??Maximise machine utilisation.
Targets and outcomes expected:
??Consistent Master production plan with no schedule changes over 24 hours
??Monthly analysis chart/file
??Customer satisfaction is achieved and business targets are met
??Monthly updates for SMT
??Motivated team to support the scheduling department KPI's
Background knowledge required:
??Minimum of intermediate standard for all Microsoft office applications
??Computer/ERP skills,?? Experience with Orchestrate or Preactor
??Communication skills,?? Commercial awareness, ??Problem solving
??Understanding customer forecast v history trend
??Understand resource constraints to drive continual improvement
??Teamwork approach across all departments
Role specific skills needed:
Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a technical field
Proven experience in planning/scheduling
Experience and proven performance in a manufacturing environment Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.
Ability to modulate with a dynamic workload: From heavy multi-tasking during peak workloads - to very focused, detail-oriented work during critical projects
Strong organisation and communication skills are required
