HR and Office Manager, York, GBP25,000 - GBP28,000
Working with managers and departments right across the business to ensure they are well supported on all HR matters and acting as the face to the business, you will support staff performance and deal with all HR related enquiries in a dynamic and growing business.
In a key role for the business, you will play an important part in shaping the culture and direction of the company for the future. You will work collaboratively with staff at all levels to build relationships and ensure a quality focused and high performing team at all times. Additionally this role will include Executive Assistant style duties in support of the CEO and COO and you will regularly act as the face of the company, therefore the position requires a flexible and adaptable individual with a highly professional nature.
Day to day duties will be wide ranging and varied but will primarily include:

Providing general support to the business in all aspects of HR, acting as the first point of contact for queries

Liaising with staff and stakeholders at all levels, ensuring the general smooth running of the office

Managing all recruitment processes and ensuring adequate capacity planning

Supporting mangers on resourcing for their team, understanding precise requirements and shortlisting and interviewing candidates

Dealing with starters, leavers, referencing, checking right to work documentation and other support tasks

Enhancing and supporting staff performance

Monitoring absence, sickness and holiday

Processing any contract changes
-
Undertaking regular one-to ones with staff at all levels

Dealing with any ER issues including grievance and disciplinary

Liaising with external provider on employment law issues as required

Working on any ad hoc HR projects required

Dealing with the whole employee life cycle from inductions to exit interviews

Working on staff engagement and retention to enhance the business through a positive HR strategy
-
Dealing with any queries on entitlements and HR processes (for example, maternity, paternity, adoption leave etc)

Liaising closely with payroll to ensure the accurate and timely processing of any changes
-
Co-ordination of staff training requirements and supporting ongoing staff development

Producing and developing HR reports

Booking meeting rooms and acting as the face of the business at meetings when required

Working in the long term to improve processes and enhance the HR function
The successful candidate:
The successful candidate will have experience of working in an HR function, will have exceptional people and communication skills as well as strong IT skills. You will be a pro-active individual who will go the extra mile to see a task completed successfully and will be bright, keen to learn new things and with a flexible approach to deal effectively with changing priorities. You will work accurately and to the highest quality standards, will be dynamic in your approach and will be looking for an opportunity to build your career in Human Resources.
Any HR related study completed would be an advantageous, for example a degree in HR or working towards a CIPD qualification.
