The role

Our state of the art, fully automated Barton DC is looking for a Stock Manager. As a Stock Manager you'll provide assurance to the business in regard to the control of stock, stock integrity and procedural compliance within a Distribution Centre.

Here's a few more details of what you will be responsible for:

Management of a small team of Stock Controllers on rotational shifts AM &PM.
To oversee all integral checks are carried out that cover the stock journey throughout a DC, aligned to risk, impact to the customer and external Auditor requirements.
Evaluation and analysis of data to identify trends and risk areas that impact on stock integrity and the customer. Conducting thorough investigations to drive down to root cause.
Managing large scale operation - Responsibility for the inventory & accuracy across 3 physical/systemic warehouses including good stock, returns and audio.
Lead local projects to reduce damages, stock loss and unnecessary adjustments.
Provide support to the business when embarking on change programs and projects. Assess the risk and impact of new systems, processes and work practices.
Monitor interfaces between connecting computerised and manual systems are qualitative and minimise risk to stock integrity.
Support and guide the Management team on procedural compliance, whilst supporting a shrinkage reduction culture.
Provide comprehensive reporting to key stakeholders detailing risk, impact and recommendations.

So that's what I will be responsible for now onto what I need to have to be successful in this role:

Experience in distribution / Logistics operation, with expertise in an operational role involving stock management.
People Management experience
Experience of the intricacies of shrinkage management, which can impact on customer serviceability
Knowledge of audit techniques to include: compliance, completeness, substantive, accuracy tests, inventory analysis
Analytical and organised approach to problem solving
Computer literate (Word, Excel, Access) and an in-depth knowledge of computerised stock management systems, central Mainframe interfaces and supply chain processes
High standard of communication oral, written and presentational skills essential.
Adaptive thinking plus the ability to succeed within a constantly changing environment is essential.
