A fantastic opportunity has become available to join our Argos Financial Services (AFS) team as our Argos Card Finance Manager in Milton Keynes.

The Role

As the Argos Card Finance Manager, you will sit within the Finance team and will be responsible for management of the Storecard Finance team, managing the delivery of budget, forecast and corporate plan. You will manage the weekly trading and monthly financial reporting processes, leading and developing a team of 3 Analysts, continuously improving process and output for your team.

You will input into decisions around budget and corporate plan assumptions, influencing and shaping the targets for the business. You will also input on business cases, providing a Finance opinion and having a material impact on the output and business decisions around our strategic initiatives.

As the Argos Card Finance Manager, you will;

Manage the budget, forecasting and corporate plan process, understanding key drivers of the business and be able to articulate key drivers of performance.
Review and oversee the weekly and monthly MI production, identifying key trends and areas of further analysis to drive profitability.
Manage and drive the development of 3 direct reports, ensuring appropriate prioritisation of workload, consistent output and continued improvement.
Build strong relationships with senior commercial stakeholders and across the wider Group Finance team.
Support the business on ad-hoc strategic initiatives, challenging assumptions and offering insight to ensure business cases are well thought out and appropriate financial due diligence has been performed.
Identify potential future issues and address them before they become blockers.
Be responsible for delivering half-year and year-end audits from the Argos Card perspective.
Provide a link to the Sainsbury's Bank Credit team to understand inputs and rationale to Credit provisioning, challenging assumptions and outputs where appropriate.
Oversee the AFS Credit Net Present Value model, ensuring proper maintenance and regular review of assumptions, inputs and outputs and communication of any changes and trends to the wider business.

As the Argos Card Finance Manager, you will have;

An accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
The ability to manage, lead & drive development of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to think and reason logically.
Proven relationship management skills.
The ability to effectively partner commercial teams to drive profitability.
Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and work well under pressure.

Effective communication & influencing skills, being able to explain information in both a financial and non-financial way to financial and commercial stakeholders.
