There is an exciting opportunity for a new Head of Human Resources (HR) to join the team at South Devon College. With a significant focus on further developing our excellent workforce, the role will play a key part in the leadership of the College in to the next decade, helping to further the College’s ambitions and maintain our upward trajectory.

We have a broad, innovative curriculum with provision ranging from 14-16 through further education to higher education. Having recently been granted Foundation Degree Awarding Powers by the Privy Council, we are aiming to further develop our HE and post-18 provision.

The College’s strong focus on economic priorities has been recognised by the award of the TES FE award for Employer Engagement in 2017-18. In 2019 the College will open its £17 million Hi Tech & Digital Centre, offering even greater opportunities within the expanding hi tech, manufacturing, digital and creative sectors. Along with our redeveloped Marine Academy at Kingswear we have ambitious plans to extend our estate over the next 15 years.

The role will support the development, implementation and delivery of the People & Resources Strategy, HR Policies and Procedures in line with the College’s Mission and Visions. As a member of the College Leadership Team, the postholder will be values-driven, creative and innovative and able to lead the delivery of forward-thinking strategies to further develop the College, with the credibility to inspire, lead and motivate.

A strategic thinker with insight coupled with commitment to getting the very best from our people and the delivery of high quality professional services, the successful candidate will also be responsible for playing a significant role in leading the College’s emerging Digital strategy.
